During our recent family vacation, we found ourselves at Gasthof, a charming traditional Bavarian hotel. As a travel consultant, I always seek out places with a family-friendly vibe, and this hotel delivered just that. From the moment we arrived, the manager made us feel right at home. He even kindly printed off the evening menu in English, which was a thoughtful touch. The owner prepared our dinner, and it was a great introduction to Bavarian cuisine. Each morning brought a bounty at breakfast, catering to both adults and kids. Our spacious room comfortably fit my family, and the terrace was a lovely bonus for unwinding after a day of local adventures. Speaking of adventures, we also enjoyed various outdoor activities around Obertrubach, from swimming in nearby lakes to leisurely strolls in the countryside that are perfect for all ages. On our downtime, we challenged each other to billiards at the hotel's game room, which added an element of fun to our evenings. If you want an authentic Bavarian experience that goes beyond the usual chain hotels while keeping the whole family entertained, Gasthof is well worth considering!
